Student Self-Evaluation Idea

It's been such a long time since my last post and I need to make blogging a habit.  I was inspired to blog today by one of the middle school teachers I am helping today.

She told me that she will be out and there will be a substitute teacher in for her on Thursday and Friday.  In order to make sure that students will continue to be productive while she's gone, she came up with a very nice way to make students accountable for their work in her absence.

On a handout she created, she put the Project Due Date, the Project Objective, and the Task.  The students are making a PowerPoint to practice knowledge of House and Home vocabulary in French.  They'll record audio in PowerPoint to demonstrate correct pronunciation of the words in French.

She also included space for them to record their goals for what they want to accomplish each day.  At the end of each day of the project, they will submit a written response to the following questions:

Did you accomplish today's goals?

If yes, how and why?

If not, why not?  What will you do differently tomorrow?

Tonight for homework, I am going to...

What a great way to help keep kids on track and help them set and achieve their own goals!

Nice artifact for APPR!
